So many had struggled for the love of this man
If you obeyed him, you
earned the love of al-Wadud
His command, great men
obeyed
His smiles so many yearned
to see
His tears, so much sorrow
it brought
He was a man, perfect in character
The companion of men eager
to learn
The companion of women
eager to search
He was a man, one like no
other
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
Shall I tell to you the
story of the Muhaajiruun?
Had they not with him
suffered torture?
Had they not with him journeyed
Where he goes, where they
go
If he was here, they had
to be here
Blessed be the Muhaajiruun
Great men and women who
lived this life
Away from their shelter
they had gone
On hot deserts they had
trekked
For the light which the
beloved showed
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
Shall I tell to you again
the story of the Ansaar?
Had they not their lands
readied?
For the noble feet on it
will step
Did they not their chest
widen?
Did they not their arms
open?
Did they not the Muhaajirun
ready to receive?
Did they not rejoice for
the praised one to them came?
Had they not their lands
and properties shared?
Blessed be the Ansaar
Great men and women who
breathed this air
Their hearts full of love
For a man, one like no
other
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
We are probably the best
of his lovers
The Ansaar in joy had
thought and hoped
No, we are the best of his
lovers
With him we had come
The Muhaajiruun in happiness
had thought and hoped
The love of the beloved
and his Lord they yearned
You, O Ansaar! You are my
brothers!
There could be nothing
more important
The Ansaar believed and
were glad
You, O Muhaajiruun! I am
one of you!
There could yet be nothing
more essential
The Muhaajiruun believed
and were grateful
Such was the man Muhammad
al-Mustapha
The man who had sown into
hearts love
The man who had harvested
from men love
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
This is the nobility about
which I sing
This is the nobility I
live to praise
This is the nobility whose
love drunken me
This is the nobility I
wish to see
This is the nobility I
pray to touch
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
