Remorseful was the spear
of Wahshi
Piercing the heart of the
noble one again and again
Tearing down his smile
Bringing to the ground a
pillar that strong
Hamza! Hamza! Hamza
radiyal Laahu anhu
Had he only known
This nobility deserved no
pain
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
How pathetic was the
freedom which he yearned
Sad indeed was that which
he earned
Soon freedom felt empty of
promise
The nobility of the
noblest of the nobles came to bare
Submit to Al-Gafuur you
who did me harm
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
I bowed to that made of
the hands
That woman was never my
wife
My soul is stained with a
blood so clean and pure
Doom he felt for hope was
gone
Don’t despair of My Mercy
my slave
So it was revealed to
bring back hope
Be my witness that God is
Allah
Be my witness that he is
rasuulul Laah
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
Brotherhood was
established again
The murderer and the noble
shared a plate
With passion he killed the
liar
That one who posed a nabiy
Wahshi! Wahshi! Wahshi
radiyal Laahu anhu
So it was with the men of
old
The noble one their
teacher and friend
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
Blessed be the voice of
Bilal
Who to prayer the ummah
had called
Ahad! Ahad! Ahad he
exclaimed in pain
You could have his body
take it, it is yours
No, not his heart and this
soul that lived
To Allah it belonged and
so he proved
His voice was quiet for
the noble one was gone
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
Where are you who dare
slander this man?
Where are you who dare
mock this man?
Would that you knew this
and more
Yet your slander and
mockery will harm him not
No, you cannot dare kill
this love
His light shines, his
greatness is rare
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
This is the nobility about
which I sing
This is the nobility I
live to praise
This is the nobility whose
love drunken me
This is the nobility I
wish to see
This is the nobility I
pray to touch
Salaam and Rahma upon him
should rain
